Chicken A L'Orange

I got this off internecipes. It was soooo good. It reminded me of orange chicken I used to get at Panda Express up in Provo. Really worth trying. I also did about 1 1/2 the recipe because I was serving 3 adults and 3 kids. Not many leftovers. 4 chicken breast halves 1 beaten egg 1 Tbsp water 1/4 cup cornstarch 2 Tbsp butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup orange juice 1/4 cup vinegar 1 Tbsp cornstarch mixed in 2 Tbsp water Cut chicken into bite sized pieces. Dip chicken pieces in egg wash made of beaten egg and water, then coat with cornstarch. Heat butter in frying pan and brown chicken in butter until golden brown. Place in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients except cornstarch mix in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Add cornstarch slurry as needed to make a thin sauce. Pour over chicken pieces and bake, covered, for 20 minutes, then remove cover and bake another 15 minutes. Serve with ham fried rice or regular rice.Yeild: 4 servings

Pies!

Happy Birthday Randy It was Randy's Birthday yesterday and when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted he said none, I want pie! He loves his mother's recipe for pumpkin pie and it is below. I wanted a different pie and so I was going to make the cherry one. I had one can cherry and one apple. I threw the cherry in and realized it only filled half way. Instead of a trip to the store I scooped it to one side and added the apple. My pie plates are for big pies I guess! All Good! Pie Crust: 3 c. flour 1 c. crisco 1 tsp. Baking powder 1 tsp. salt Mix together with your hands until it is mixed evenly. Take 1/2 c. of hot tap water and put it in 1 tbsp. of vinegar. Mix this with the other stuff and roll out. Makes 4 crusts, or 2 pies if you want top and bottom. Pumpkin Pie Mix together: 1 big can of pumpkin (about 3 cups) 1 can of milk (evaporated) 3 tbsp. unsulfered molasses 2 eggs Add: 1 1/2 c. of brown sugar 2 tbsp. flour 4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice 1 tsp. salt Pour into unbaked pie...

Ingredients: 3 bananas, mashed 1 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 2 eggs 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/3 cup sour milk 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract Directions: Preheat oven 350 I peel bananas first and just use a large soup serving spoon and use the back to mash. Any way you want to do it is good. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan. Prepared pan: It took me a while of scrubbing bread pans until I learned to put wax paper in the bottom of your bread pan and spray with oil spray. I cut off any extra because once it started smoking. This is a really neat trick for any moist breads like this. After cooking just peel off the wax paper slowly and you won't loose any in the pan like before. Tip on sour milk: just add 1 tsp. vinegar to the milk in a seperate bowl. Bake in preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until toothpick come out clean. You can get creative by adding nuts, raisins, chocolate chips or anything else you ...
