Cabbage & Kielbasa

What is Kielbasa? you might say, or at least I did. So I looked it up on the internet and it is those sausage looking things in the hotdog section that look like a huge U. :) :) This is another recipe from Laurel Mills. Everyone liked it, but we had to do alot of coaxing on Justin's part. He just doesn't like trying new things. 1 lg. red Onion, sliced 1 red bell pepper, sliced 1 green bell pepper, sliced 2 T. Olive Oil 1 lb. turkey kielbasa, liced 1/2" or any other kind. 1 lb. bag coleslaw 1/2 c. chicken broth 1 t. garlic powder 1/2 t. each pepper, cumin, paprika 12 dashes hot pepper sauce. Saute onion and peppers in oil Add all else. Cook and stir until cabbage wilts and kielbasa heats through.

Stir up oats, wheat germ and bran. Mix sugar, oil, honey, water, vanilla and spices and pour over. Mix well. Spread onto 2 cookie sheets and bake 45 min. stirring every 15 min. Add almonds and coconut and bake 15 min. more. Let cool. Makes about 13 c. (gallon ziploc) Tips: You can food-process the rolled oats a little, and the almonds and coconut too. Texture turns out like grape nuts. Eat with milk, yogurt or even on your ice cream. If you want it more clumpy for the last baking, with the nuts and coconut, add 2-3 T. honey mixed with the same amount of water. Gives it a nice shiny look. You could also add other t...
